Food allergy is a diagnosis that changes the life of the entire family. Suddenly all family members have to be aware of what is consumed to guard against an allergic reaction. While food allergies are on the rise, peanut allergies have doubled in recent years. Still, sometimes children can outgrow food allergies. In this video health tip, Leigh Ann Kerns, MD discusses the Oral Food Challenge, a procedure at UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital that allows doctors to determine if a child is still allergic to a particular food.
