Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Medical Education Opportunities
At University Hospitals, we are dedicated to educating tomorrow’s orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians through exceptional medical education programs. Our Orthopedic Residency Program is one of the premier advanced training opportunities in the U.S., and hundreds of candidates apply every year. The program provides comprehensive training in all aspects of orthopedics and our residents have access to nationally recognized research programs and state-of-the-art facilities.
The department also offers highly sought-after fellowships in several areas of concentration, including adult joint reconstruction, spinal surgery and pediatric orthopedic surgery. Additionally, we offer two fellowship programs specific to sports medicine – orthopedic surgery sports medicine and primary care sports medicine.
- Adult Joint Reconstruction
- Orthopaedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship
- Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship
Working alongside some of the leading experts in the field, fellows are immersed in teaching, clinical and research aspects of their area of concentration. UH also hosts the Timothy Stephens Orthopaedic Fellowship, a program designed to strengthen the participation of underrepresented minority medical students in orthopedics.
