In Vitro Fertilization
Our In-Vitro Fertilization Pioneers Have Been Providing Exceptional Care for More Than 3 Decades
University Hospitals Fertility Center’s team includes some of the most experienced IVF practitioners in the region and is continuously striving for advancing successful outcomes for families beyond the national average. Our specialists bring over 30 years of IVF experience to the program.
Advanced Technology Ensures Better Outcomes
Much has changed since Ohio’s first IVF birth in 1983. Many risks with IVF have been greatly reduced or virtually eliminated to ensure safe, positive outcomes for both mother and baby.
Having twins or triplets used to be a common occurrence with IVF. However, improved technology and practice have greatly reduced the risk of multiple births via IVF. Now, for a woman under 35, the transfer of just one to two embryos can result in a healthy, successful pregnancy.
Couples may seek IVF because they are concerned about passing a disease they carry to their child. University Hospitals Fertility Center’s sophisticated technology enables physicians to prevent this by examining the couple’s embryos and implanting only those that are healthy.
A Comforting, Reassuring Experience
Our team strives to minimize the stress inherent in the IVF experience. Our comfortable center offers a relaxing environment and is located in the suburbs to provide easy highway access. In addition, convenient hours help accommodate patients’ busy schedules and satellite monitoring partnerships with community obstetricians/gynecologists cut down travel time for more remote patients.
Our team has a great deal of compassion for each individual patient, but when the stress of IVF begins to interfere with the procedure’s success, we have dedicated clinical psychologists with special expertise in women’s issues standing by to assist. This unique feature enables patients to keep their care on track in a seamless, integrated fashion. We also offer on-site acupuncture for patients who are interested in incorporating complementary medicine into their fertility treatments.
We understand that sometimes a first IVF attempt is unsuccessful, and that a second round may be cost-prohibitive for some families. UH Fertility Center provides hope for patients in this situation through Partnership for Families, a unique nonprofit that provides qualifying families with the financial backing to try again after a failed first IVF procedure.
