An entire team joins together to provide specialized care for sinus surgery and skull base surgical treatments, many from our dedicated UH Seidman Cancer Center.

- Orbital surgery
- Pituitary tumors
- Revision sinus surgery
- Tumors of the nose, sinus and nasopharynx
When necessary, our fellowship-trained rhinologists perform procedures for these issues side-by-side with UH surgeons specialized in the brain, ear or eye when those areas are also affected. This results in fewer surgical events for a safer, more efficient experience and an improved outcome.
Throughout your care path, we will provide information about treatment options, keep you updated of every change and welcome questions at every stage of care. The goal is to help you heal well and for a successful recovery.
Advanced Minimally Invasive Treatments
Complex sinus and skull base disorders will likely require surgical treatment. UH offers the most advanced endoscopic surgical techniques and technology. Using a scope inserted in the nose eliminates the need for external incisions and provides a less invasive approach to open procedures.
Our surgeons are also skilled with microscopic and robotic surgery, as well as radiation technologies, including CyberKnife® and Gamma Knife. In addition, UH has advanced proton therapy radiation treatment capabilities. During proton beam therapy, patients receive extremely precise radiation dosing. This can decrease side effects because surrounding tissue is not affected. This also has the potential to reduce the risk for developing radiation-induced secondary cancers decades after treatment.
