Characteristics of Our Fellows
We welcome applications from pediatricians or med-peds physicians who are committed to a lifelong career in patient care, education and scholarship in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. The applicants must have completed an accredited pediatric residency program and are eligible for the Pediatric Boards. Fellows who are board eligible must obtain board certification during their fellowship in order to be eligible for the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology sub-board.
In general, our fellows are excellent clinicians and physician-scientists who have had excellent training in general pediatric residency programs, and all enter our program with some experiences or interest in pursuing a career in academic medicine. While some have had extensive research experience prior to entering the fellowship, some have not and, therefore it is not an absolute requirement for acceptance into the program.
Our fellows come from a diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and nationalities, including the U.S., European countries, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
