Pediatric Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Pediatric Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship is housed in the Division of Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics and Psychology at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, which includes 18 faculty members: four neuropsychologists, eight developmental-behavioral pediatricians, and five pediatric psychologists.
In addition to outpatient neuropsychological evaluation, the program features a multi-disciplinary learning environment and multi-disciplinary clinic opportunities. Fellows are given the opportunity to work with children with a range of developmental, medical, and neurological conditions.
Strengths of our Program
The goal of the Pediatric Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship is to provide advanced training for psychologists specializing in pediatric neuropsychology. At the completion of training, fellows should be capable of independent patient care, research, and teaching in a range of medical center, hospital, or private practice settings.
The fellow will be supervised on a rotating basis by each core neuropsychology faculty member. Clinical and research supervision will occur during individual meetings with the identified supervisor. The core pediatric neuropsychology faculty will generally provide supervision, unless the fellow is participating in elective opportunities. The fellow will have at least 2 hours of direct supervision every week. The fellow will also meet with the program director and other division neuropsychologists to discuss career development and professional issues at least once a month or as topics arise.
Characteristics of our Fellows
An applicant for this fellowship program is required to have completed a clinical psychology or school psychology doctoral degree prior to beginning the fellowship program including an APA or CPA approved internship. Applicants must also have experience with child neuropsychological assessment.
After completion of this fellowship, graduates have gone on to independent practice in academic medical center, hospital, and private practice settings.
