Integrated Behavioral Health Services
Advanced Integrated Behavioral Health Services for Children
Our Rainbow Physician Extension Team programs offer access and care coordination to behavioral health services for children. As part of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, we provide children and adolescents with access to professional evaluations and treatments to meet the patients’ needs.
Pediatric Psychiatric Social Worker
Office-based behavioral health evaluations take place in our UH Rainbow Care Connection Network primary care provider’s office for assessments, management and recommendations for the care of children with any behavioral health concerns, including:
- Behavioral problems
- Conduct disorders
- Eating disorders
- Mood disorders
- Social problems
Telephone Consult Line
Acute behavioral health issues are supported through a telephone consult line from the primary care physician to mental health experts to receive timely, acute care behavioral health management recommendations, including crises assistance and medication questions.
Improved Behavioral Health Access
This service is designed to match the patient’s specific need with the most appropriate resource.
UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s Physician Extension Team , working in concert with the UH Rainbow Care Connection Network practices, facilitates the communication with the family and the appropriate agency to facilitate the UH Rainbow Care Connection Network provider’s referral. Cooperating agencies include:
- Center for Families and Children
- Positive Education Program
- Recovery Resources
Other agencies may be added in the future. Agencies will correspond directly with the referring physician to help in the coordination of care.
