Spinal cord injury/quadriplegia, adult and pediatric
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease)
Unilateral and bilateral diaphragm dysfunction/paralysis associated with limb girdle muscular dystrophy, spinal muscle atrophy, Guillian-Barre, Pompe’s, lupus, Parsonage-Turner syndrome, brachial plexus neuritis, Brown-Vialetto-Van Laere (BVVL) syndrome and idiopathic unilateral or bilateral diaphragm dysfunction
Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome
Diaphragm dysfunction post-rotator cuff surgery, post-lobectomy, post-cardiac bypass and valve replacement
Failure to wean post-lung, -cardiac, -liver and -kidney transplant
